Eight-four-year-old Johnny Williams (AFA2XZ - K4ANJ), pictured at his MARS rig in Salt Springs FL, got a congratulatory phone call from Army MARS Chief Stu Carter 16 October on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Silver Springs Radio Club. Williams is the sole survivor among the founding members. He was also the moving force in establishing the affiliated tri-service MARS club station AAR4CSS which handled hundreds of phone patches to deployed service members in past wars, Ocala Star-Banner photo.
